Vol. 2 Issue 5 is the fifth issue of the second The Darkness comic series volume published from 2002.

Synopsis Edit

Desperate, Jackie looks for help to locate the shooter, that Paulie has hired to kill Jenny's sister Megan.

Jackie stands on a rooftop and contemplates his love for Jenny. Elsewhere, two mobsters talk about why Paulie lets Jackie do all his dirty work and only at night.

Meanwhile, Jackie kills a man that insulted Paulie. Butcher Joyce comes to the apartment to clean it up. He expresses his anger, that Jackie betrayed them and sided with Paulie. Jackie reveals that Paulie hired a shooter, which will kill Jenny's twin sister Megan if he tries to takedown Paulie. He then asks for Butcher's help, which responds that the former doesn't take sides. Jackie calls him a coward and asks again for help, but Butcher rejects to help.

Later, Paulie meets Jackie in a restaurant. Paulie threatens that if Jackie doesn't stop snooping around for help to find out the shooter, he will make Jenny's sister life miserable. Unknown to Paulie, he spits out the information were the shooter could be to Jackie.

Later that day, Jackie visits Papa Rossi to take payment. Papa Rossi in anger shouts at Jackie and shoots a warning shot making Jackie to run away. In an alleyway, Jackie is met by Butcher who decides to give him one chance.

In the night, Butcher organizes a blackout near the Tiger Lounge, letting Jackie to search around by using The Darkness. He manages to locate the shooter named David Lizewski. Jackie gives him a chance to walk away, but David opens fire. The Darkness quickly kill David by stabbing his head with his own gun.

Meanwhile, Jenny's sister Megan thinks that she something outside. Johnny, her husband calms her and says that there's nothing there. It's then revealed that Jackie is looking at the window from the darkness. To be continued...
